Screen Prints.

My first screen prints began quite basically, simply layering different pigments to create many layers of interlinking lines. I like the effect of this but feel that more is needed to make the prints a lot more complex.

I started to experiment adding backgrounds into the prints, painting directly onto the screen. I used manutex printing techniques to transfer direct shapes to combine with the lines on top. I think the prints became a lot more effective with a background underneath, the backgrounds started to really highlight the different lines. 

I think it would be interesting to play around background further, working on top of different colours and shapes to see what different effects can be achieved.
