I've started to experiment with cut outs within my drawings. I combined a number of my salt backgrounds in different colour ways, to then layer on top of. Cutting the shapes out from my previous drawings, the colours layered on top of eachother combined with the mottled backgrounds from the salt created really interesting effects.
This would perhaps be something that would work well digitally manipulated into different patterns and pieces.
I don't feel that this cut out drawing worked as well, I think this is because there is too much white space between the coloured sections and also that the lines are too mechanical and thought out. The drawings in which I have been a lot more expressive seem to work a lot better.
