It was interesting to try and draw these tree stumps with all the different gradients in colour, the different marks and textures and of course the tree rings.
Building up a base of original drawings I think is important, especially as it is often something I don't spend enough time doing, I've enjoyed taking my time to draw these in greater detail than I would usually allow myself to. I often like to take an abstract and loose approach to drawing, but sometimes it's all in the detail!
